Department of Parasitology and Entomology
The Department which focuses on issues of Parasitology and Entomology is made up of seasoned erudite and distinguished professors, and other academics who are involved in National and Global Health issues.
Vision
We aim to become a leading centre of excellence in research, education, and service in the field of parasitology and entomology. We strive to produce graduates who are competent scientists, armed with the latest technologies and information to tackle the challenges of parasitic and insect-borne diseases. Our commitment to excellence is grounded in the development of innovative research programs that aim to develop, evaluate, and apply new approaches for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of parasitic and vector-borne diseases, leading to significant improvements in human and animal health. We aspire to create a culture of intellectual curiosity and scientific rigor that foster creativity, innovation and diversity in our teaching, research and community service.
Our Mission
• To advance the frontiers of knowledge through creative innovations and research in Parasitology and Entomology education in Nigeria.
• To facilitate development of scientists through guidance of our undergraduate and post graduate students, and in training of post-doctoral fellows.
• To participate in university-wide academic interdisciplinary collaborations, programmes and curricula.
• To contribute to our immediate community by collaborating with public, non-profit, private, and industry partners in Anambra State and Nigeria.
